Hello, Hello! This is my very FIRST blog. Too exciting!!
For years and years I have adored CREATING in my fabulous world of interior design ... but more recently I've also been falling in love with writing. It's getting me tingly happy!!
I've been thinking about whether to start a blog for some time ... hoping it will be an opportunity to dive a little deeper on stuff that really floats my boat.
I definitely ride the rollercoaster with sharing on social media. Some days I love putting stuff out there. Some days it feels like a complete flippin' chore.
On the good social media days, I've been having SO MUCH FUN with my lovely new assistant Skye helping me with our fabulouso reels ranging from Tiles Tutorials ... to spotting cat's bums in designs. Ha. Loving it!
But there is a LOT of noise out there, and I want to use this blog as a chance to take a bit of a breather and get some perspective. To be able to explore and grow.
I think it's going to be an absolute treat for me to be able to share whatever I feel drawn to write about at the time. I hope you're on board for the ride!
I'll be taking time to really delve into my insider interior tips & tricks with you. Sharing practical advice ... simple ideas you can apply in your own home. I want to help make a real difference in yours and your family's life every day...help you create a life you love.
What's super exciting for me too is having this blog as an opportunity to explore with you the amazing wellbeing journey I'm on.
I'm learning more and more every day about meditation and mindset ... tapping in to our intuition and finding our purpose. It is seriously firing me up my lovely!!
Woo-woo is officially go in my world ... and I'm all for sprinkling some of my interior magic and getting in flow!!
So yes, first up ... let's dive into some Interiors gorgeousness to get this party started.
Right now, here at Lynlea West Studio HQ, we're working on some lovely new projects adding the delights of wall panelling. My designer head is absolutely bursting with ideas!
I'm all for bringing ARCHITECTURAL FABULOUSNESS to a room with panelling.
If you've got a room currently rating 0 on the 'gorgeous features scale', then panelling may well be the answer for you!

In the frame
If you've got a special piece of artwork you want to frame, here's a way to make your art feel super special and considered.
Adding timber moulding to your walls creates the look of panelling, and is quick and easy to do. Make sure you've got super flat walls though!
If you fancy doing it yourself ...
1. Measure out your desired rectangles on your wall. Don't forget your spirit level! (Top tip - marking up sizes on your walls using low-tack Decorator's tape is a really effective way to get a proper feel for the proportion.)
2. Cut your lengths of moulding at a 45 degree angle (we like to call it mitring 😉) so the corners slot nicely together. Grab some wood glue and you are off!
3. Paint the same colour as your wall for sophisticated elegance ... at your service!
A panelling secret
This is a great way to turn a bare wall into a complete show-stopper!
It may well look like rather hard work, but let me tell you a little insider secret... This baby is in fact a ready made panel.
Clever hey!?!
It's made of lightweight, high density polyurethane. So the beauty of this impressive little chap is not only is it easy to install, but it's waterproof opening up a plethora of uses!
Mix 'n' Match
Mixing decorative reeded and framed panels really makes this wall pop! I am all for the useful, and pretty darn gorgeous, addition of this shelf to separate these two styles.
To really vamp it up go for dramatically dark walls like here ... moss greens or charcoal greys can look amazing! You'll be getting that va-va voom feeling every time you brush your teeth. And smile!

Well hello! Look at this rather special number ....
We say yesss to this modern take on wall panelling!
Very dramatic ... and to be honest it wouldn't be sooo hard to do.
Or at least that's what I'd be telling my lovely builder Lionel while I direct operations. Ha! Go Lionel! Go Lionel!
Beach Hut Vibe
When Life's a Beach baby! All for being transported to visions of seaside holidays & beach huts when drowning in tax returns or invoices. 🙄 This lovely panelling would take you straight there!
You could look up from your desk and be taken straight back to the time when your biggest drama was which flavour ice-cream to get.
Mine's a mint-choc-chip if you're asking!!
